Big Size Cotton Towel Five-Star Hotel Luxury Hotel White Bath Towels for Bathroom
What is the production process of towels?
The production process of towels usually includes main steps such as raw material preparation, spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing, post-treatment, quality inspection and packaging. Different techniques (such as pure cotton towels, bamboo fiber towels) or product types (such as ordinary towels, antibacterial towels) may have slight differences in details. The following is the typical production process of pure cotton towels, which is detailed in combination with the process characteristics and actual production steps:
I. Raw Material Preparation
1. Select fiber raw materials
Mainstream materials: Pure cotton (accounting for over 90% of the market), commonly used long-staple cotton (such as Egyptian cotton, Xinjiang long-staple cotton) or fine-staple cotton. The length and strength of the fibers affect the softness and water absorption of the towel.
Other materials: Bamboo fiber (antibacterial), polyester (quick-drying), blended materials (cotton + polyester for enhanced wear resistance).
2. Loosening and impurity removal
Step:
Tear the raw cotton into loose cotton blocks through a cotton opener and remove impurities (such as cotton seeds and dead leaves).
The fibers are further combed by the carding machine to be arranged in parallel, forming uniform cotton strips.
II. Spinning Process
1. Roving and fine yarn
Roving machine: It draws and Narrows the cotton pons and adds a small amount of twist to make roving (similar to fine hemp rope).
Spinning frame: It further refines the roving yarn and strongly twists it to produce fine yarn suitable for weaving (the linear density is usually 16-40 counts, and the higher the count, the finer the yarn).
2. Twisting (double-strand yarn production)
To enhance the strength of towels, two fine yarns are often combined and twisted through a twisting machine to produce double-strand yarns (such as 21 counts ×2 strands).
III. Weaving Techniques
1. Straightening and threading the scriptures
Warping: Arrange multiple yarns in parallel according to the designed length and density, and roll them into a warp axis (warp: longitudinal yarn of the towel).
Threading: The warp thread is successively passed through the reed and the reed by the reed threading machine to prepare for weaving (the reed controls the rise and fall of the warp thread, and the reed determines the density of the weft thread).
2. Weaving (Work on towel looms)
Equipment: Towel looms (shuttleless or shuttle looms) are used to form towel fabric through the interweaving of warp and weft.
Key structure:
Loop formation: By using a special loom structure, loops of varying lengths are formed on the surface of the raw fabric (the height of the loops is usually 2-6mm).
The loop structure: The part where the loop connects to the base fabric is generally made of plain weave or satin weave to ensure the loop is firm.
Common weaving methods:
Three-weft towel: Every three weft threads are woven to form a loop, with a moderate loop density and high cost performance.
Four-weft towels: Every four weft lines form a loop, with denser loops and stronger water absorption (such as high-end bath towels).
